What is the difference between cast acrylic and extruded acrylic?
Acrylic has two manufacturing methods-casting and extrusion. The acrylic casting method is made by pouring hot liquid acrylic composition between two glass plates, separated by a rubber gasket-the thickness of the gasket determines the thickness of the acrylic plate made. Put the sealed glass plate in the oven to heat it, and chemical processes and chemical changes are carried out during the heating process. Finally, the sheet is cooled. The extruded acrylic resin is made by pouring the hot acrylic liquid ingredients into the mold before pressing the acrylic resin through the rollers, so that the material has a uniform thickness and smoothness.
Die-cast acrylic is generally considered to be a better quality material, and has more advantages than the extrusion type, for example, it is more resistant to chemicals and solvents, not easy to scratch, easier to machine and manufacture, and has a wider range of colors and types . Surface finish, namely gloss/matt.
