As a high-performance engineering plastic, ABS profiles are widely used in the field of precision plastic extrusion. They possess high strength, good impact resistance, and ease of processability, which can meet the strict requirements of precision components for dimensional accuracy and structural stability. In the precision plastic extrusion process, it is necessary to focus on controlling key parameters such as screw speed, extrusion temperature, and die design to ensure the molding quality of ABS profiles. Excessively high screw speed may lead to material degradation, while too low speed will affect production efficiency; generally, it needs to be adjusted to a reasonable range according to the cross-sectional complexity of the profile. Extrusion temperature should be controlled in zones and sections; typically, the barrel temperature is set at 180-230°C, and the die temperature is maintained at 60-80°C to ensure sufficient plasticization of the material and uniform flowability.
In LED application scenarios, ABS profiles are often used as components such as enclosures and brackets, and problems such as poor heat dissipation, dimensional deviation, and insufficient weather resistance may easily occur during use. For heat dissipation issues, the air convection efficiency can be improved by optimizing the profile structure design, adding heat dissipation fins or built-in heat dissipation channels. In terms of dimensional accuracy, using precision-machined dies combined with an online dimensional monitoring system to adjust extrusion speed and cooling water temperature in real time can effectively control tolerances within ±0.1mm. For the weather resistance requirements of outdoor LED products, UV-resistant additives and anti-aging agents can be added to ABS raw materials; tests have shown that this can extend the service life of the profiles by 3-5 years in outdoor environments.
