Modified use

 

The purpose of modified PC is to toughen, improve molding performance, reduce residual deformation, increase flame retardancy, etc. The specific varieties of PC that can be modified are:

 

PC/ABS can improve flexural modulus, heat resistance, electroplating performance, etc.

 

PC/PA and HIPS can improve impact toughness and surface finish.

 

PC is reinforced and modified with glass fiber or carbon fiber to improve mechanical strength.

Combined with bromine flame retardant and antimony trioxide, flame retardant grade PC can be made.

Others can be blended with polysulfone, aromatic polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene to achieve a balance between economy and performance.

 

Polycarbonate used in industry is mainly synthesized from bisphenol A and phosgene. Its main chain contains benzene rings and quaternary carbon atoms with four substitutions, and its rigidity and heat resistance are increased. Tm=265-270℃, Tg=149℃, It can maintain good mechanical properties at 15-130 ° C, excellent impact resistance and transparency, dimensional stability, creep resistance, and its performance is better than that of polyester polyester. It is an important engineering plastic. However, polycarbonate is prone to stress cracking and hydrolysis when heated, so it should be fully dried before processing.
