Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)

PVC is a robust, stiff, and long-lasting substance. PVCs are renowned for having strong chemical resistance as well as effective electrical insulation. They have flame-retardant qualities because of the chlorine in them.

PVC is easily converted into plastic tubes and is widely accessible in white powdered or granular form. This substance can take the place of conventional materials like rubber, metal, wood, and ceramics. PVC extruded plastic channel are frequently utilized as wire and cable covers as well as components for building and architectural materials.

Flexible PVC can be created by adding plasticizers to the PVC synthesis process. Flexible PVCs have improved flexibility, a more transparent appearance, and characteristics similar to rubber. Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC)

CPVC is produced by further chlorination of the PVC resin. The additional chlorine gives PVC enhanced durability, chemical stability, and flame retardancy. CPVC has higher temperature resistance than PVC.

PVC resin undergoes further chlorination to form CPVC. PVC has improved flame retardancy, chemical stability, and durability because to the extra chlorine. PVC is not as temperature resistant as CPVC.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)

Acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene combine to form ABS, an opaque and amorphous thermoplastic. This material is extremely rigid, strong, and impact resistant. It is capable of withstanding aromatic chemicals and has strong chemical resistance. Since ABS melts at a low temperature, ABS resins require less heat energy during the molding and extrusion operations, which lowers the cost of producing ABS channels. But in high-temperature and outdoor applications, their lower melting temperatures also make them unsuitable. Methane-based cement or medium viscosity PVA glue can be used to adhere them. ABS channels find application in engineering, architecture, and model railroading.
