In the precision plastic extrusion production of complex plastic profiles, insufficient dimensional accuracy is one of the common problems. This is usually caused by factors such as unreasonable mold design and fluctuations in temperature or pressure during the extrusion process. Solutions include optimizing the mold runner structure to ensure uniform melt distribution; adopting a high-precision temperature control system to real-time monitor and adjust the temperature of each extrusion section; and regularly calibrating the equipment’s pressure sensors to maintain stable extrusion pressure.
Surface defects such as scratches, bubbles, or dents are also important issues affecting the quality of complex plastic profiles. Impurities or moisture in raw materials may cause bubbles, so strict drying and filtration treatment of raw materials is required; excessive extrusion speed or insufficient surface finish of the mold can easily lead to scratches, so the extrusion speed should be reasonably adjusted, and the mold cavity should be precision polished to improve surface finish.
Poor stability during the extrusion process can lead to fluctuations in profile performance, which is mainly related to the screw configuration and the matching degree of traction speed. By analyzing the profile cross-sectional structure and optimizing the screw’s compression ratio and mixing section design, the melt plasticization effect can be enhanced; at the same time, a closed-loop control system is adopted to keep the traction speed synchronized with the extrusion speed, ensuring uniform force on the profile during traction and reducing deformation.
