1. ASA extrusion has good mechanical and physical properties

Asa is evolved from ABS (abs is composed of acrylonitile, butadiene, and styrene), which retains the excellent mechanical and physical properties of ABS as an engineering plastic.

2. ASA has strong weather resistance

If the polymer material contains a double bond, the double bond is easily opened by the ultraviolet rays in the sunlight with higher energy intensity, thereby causing the polymer material to decompose. Asa replaces the butadiene rubber with unsaturated double bonds in abs with acrylic rubber without unsaturated double bonds. Therefore, it can not only resist degradation, aging and fading caused by ultraviolet radiation, but also oxidize in the atmosphere. The high temperature in the processing process causes the decomposition or discoloration of asa to have a strong guarantee, which greatly improves the anti-aging and weather resistance of the material. According to the test results, the anti-aging performance of asa is more than 10 times that of abs.

Application areas of ASA

Since the appearance of ASA, its position in a series of applications has been firmly established due to its excellent weather resistance and typical mechanical properties similar to abs:

Automotive field: After a long period of wind erosion, ASA will not gradually turn gray like specially treated anti-aging abs (many surface cracks and cavitation caused by wind erosion or water flow). Typical applications of asa are exterior mirrors, radiator grilles, tail baffles, lampshades and other external components that are exposed to harsh conditions such as sunlight, rain, and strong winds. At present, it has gradually extended to motorcycle panels, camping cars, small boat hulls, surfboards and other fields.

Gardening: ASA has been proven to be particularly suitable for gardening irrigation equipment and lawn cutter housings.

Electronic and electrical fields: It is preferentially used in the shells of durable equipment, such as: sewing machines, telephones, kitchen equipment, satellite antennas and other all-weather shells.

Construction: ASA/PVC blends are used for roofing panels and window materials. In this regard, foreign countries have more than 10 years of practical application experience.
