LED strip diffusers may encounter problems such as uneven diffusion, insufficient light transmittance, and poor weather resistance during use, which can be specifically solved by combining precision plastic extrusion technology.
Problem 1: Light spots or dark areas appear on the diffuser surface, resulting in uneven diffusion effect. Solution: Start with the precision extrusion process, check whether the flow channels of the extrusion die are smooth and the die gap is uniform; if there are local blockages or wear, repair them in time. At the same time, adjust the matching degree between traction speed and extrusion speed to avoid thickness deviation caused by uneven stretching. In terms of materials, an appropriate amount of diffusing agent (such as silica microbeads) can be added and uniform dispersion can be ensured to improve the light scattering effect.
Problem 2: The diffuser has low light transmittance, affecting the brightness of LED strips. Solution: Optimize the material formula, select high light transmittance base materials (such as optical-grade PMMA), and reduce impurity content. During the precision extrusion process, control the barrel temperature and screw speed to avoid excessive shearing or degradation of the material and maintain the original light transmittance performance of the base material. In addition, polish the diffuser surface to reduce roughness and minimize light reflection loss.
Problem 3: Diffusers used outdoors are prone to yellowing and cracking, with insufficient weather resistance. Solution: Use weather-resistant materials (such as UV-resistant PC) and add antioxidants and ultraviolet absorbers before extrusion. Adjust the extrusion cooling process and adopt a gradient cooling method to reduce internal stress and avoid subsequent cracking. At the same time, the die sizing section needs to ensure the dimensional stability of the diffuser and reduce the impact of temperature changes on the structure.
